Synopsis
Melville Farr, a respected English lawyer married to Laura, leads a double life. Although his external image is of conventionality, in private he emerges as homosexual, seeking encounters with young men. At the time, homosexuality was a crime punishable by imprisonment. Farr is dragged into the world of bribes when an old friend and victim of the scheme commits suicide instead of reporting it to the authorities. As Farr investigates the case, he confronts his own shadows and fights against the harsh reality of a society that does not accept it for who it really is.
