Synopsis

Threads is a 1984 BBC film exploring the devastating aftermath of a nuclear war in Sheffield, England. Written by Barry Hines and led by Mick Jackson, this exciting drama shows the lives of two families, the Kemps and the Becketts, as they navigate through personal crises in the midst of an international conflict that accelerates. With rising tensions between NATO and the Warsaw pact led by the Soviet Union, viewers experience the grim consequences of nuclear war on society, health, the economy and the environment.
