Synopsis
The film explores the mysterious world of "programmed obsolescence," a practice that intentionally reduces the duration of products to boost consumer demand. Tracking its origins since the 1920s, the documentary presents cases in which electronic devices have been affected by this phenomenon, such as ink printers and iPods. In addition, it raises deep questions about the possibility of eternal bulbs and the use of chips to "kill" products once they reach a certain limit of use. Filmed in Spain, France, Germany, the United States and Ghana, this revealing documentary exposes the bleak side of consumption and highlights the need for more sustainable practices.
