Synopsis
In 1950, in a small British village, Dr. Jean Markham established a deep connection with Lydia, a single mother of one of her patients. When Lydia's son, Charlie, is harassed in his school, he goes on to receive medical care under the supervision of Dr. Markham. Lydia's financial difficulties and the unsafe home lead the latter to seek refuge in the doctor's house. As their deep friendship grows stronger, both explore the possibility of a bond beyond the ordinary.
