Synopsis
Sympathy For The Devil is a masterpiece film by Jean-Luc Godard exploring the cultural and political landscape of the 1960s. Around the song "Sympathy for the Devil" by The Rolling Stones, the director gives us a deep look at topics such as the civil rights movement, pornography and interviews with famous personalities. These prolonged sequences transform the film into more than a portrait of the English musical group, providing a nudity of the social currents and movements that drove change during that revolutionary decade. The result is a fascinating research on the intellectual aesthetics that Godard adopted in the late 1960s, capturing the soul of the countercultural spirit of the time.
