Synopsis
In an exotic and remote setting, a South Pacific island during World War II, two couples face love and cultural barriers. On one side, Nellie Forbush, a nurse from Little Rock, dives into feelings for Emile de Becque, a French plantation owner. On the other hand, Liat, a native young woman, makes a deep connection with Lieutenant Cable, an undercover American soldier on a clandestine mission to spy on the nearby Japanese fleet. As drama and passion unfold in the midst of the stunning beauty of the landscape and the mystery of the island, Rodgers & Hammerstein's iconic musical anthems resonate, among them "Some charm of the night", "Bali Ha'i" and "I'm going to wash that man out of my head.
