Curse of the Golden Flower

The film is developed in China during the 10th century, in full Tang dynasty. In the context of the Chong Yang Festival, the Imperial Palace is dressed in gold with golden flowers. The surprise comes with the unexpected appearance of the Emperor accompanied by his eldest son Jai, which raises suspicion for his cold relationship with the Empress. In this oppressive environment, a clandestine romance maintained for years between the Empress and the Crown Prince Wan, her stepson, begins to crumble. Wan feels prisoner and longs to escape the palace along with Chan, the daughter of the imperial doctor. Meanwhile, Jai, a loyal son, worried about his mother's health and her obsession with the golden chrysanthemums, tries to keep the palatial intrigues around them at bay.
