Kanarie

Kanarie is a film set in South Africa in 1985, where Johan Niemand, an 18-year-old, is recruited for military service. In the midst of apartheid and religious restrictions, Johan finds comfort by joining the chorus of the South African Air Force, nicknamed "The Canaries". This grouping of young men, united by their love for music, begin a national tour as they struggle to address the complexities of their identities and the expectations imposed by society. In this exciting adventure, Kanarie leads us to explore the search for one's own self in the midst of an oppressive and hostile world.
