Always Amber

Amber, a 17-year-old girl, chooses the Swedish neutral pronoun "hen" and starts consulting with a gender identity therapist. He reflects on it: "If I and my friends lived on a desert island without rules, maybe I wouldn't be here.". This new generation of queer individuals dares to demand freedoms and opportunities that society does not give them. The documentary follows the path of Amber's transition, as well as explores his friendship with Sebastian. At first inseparable, their bond is tested by experiencing romantic love for the first time. Although their trajectories deviate, each one remains a presence in the life of the other. This film gives us a look at what it could be like to live on the utopian island of Amber, far from social norms.
